The VSRT’s student internship program is open to students who ​are currently enrolled in educational programs in Imaging and ​Radiation Sciences in the state of Virginia.

Those students selected will shadow a VSRT Board member at ​quarterly board meetings and the Annual SET Seminar. They will ​also work closely with the Board members on society projects, ​event planning, and more!

The internship program offers students the opportunity to:

-Acquaint themselves with the inner workings of a ​professional organization

-Network with technologist leaders

-Understand the responsibilities of VSRT officers and Board ​Members

-Learn how educational meetings are structured and ​presented

-Network with future employers

-Priority selection for ASRT Student to Leadership Development Program will be given to VSRT student interns.  

To be considered for the program, the student must:

1) Be a VSRT Student Member
2) Complete the required application form
3) Provide reference letter from their educational program ​director
4) Submit an essay which includes:
     -Why they chose Radiologic Technology for a career
     -Their career plans after graduation
     -The role of professional organizations in the ​technologist’s career

The ASRT Student to Leadership Development Program is a three-year program that offers students a chance to get to know the ASRT, attend educational sessions, and network with medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals.

Every year, the VSRT BOD selects 2 Virginia student  members to participate in this program.
